My dental philosophy
I take my role as a dentist and an educator very seriously. My philosophy is that if I give you enough information, you will make a good decision about your teeth. I will explain your options in detail and I will go over the pros and cons of your treatment options. But I won’t make your decision for you. Your dental health is too important to allow anyone, whether it’s a dentist or an insurance company, to take that decision out of your hands.

I share a partnership with each of my patients, and our mutual goal is to achieve and maintain your optimum dental health. In order to do this, you first have to understand the underlying causes of your dental issues. When you do, we can then work together to make the necessary changes to improve your dental health.

About Dr. Robert DeFazio
I am a lifelong resident of the Fox Chapel area. I graduated with a degree in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. I have been in private practice in Aspinwall since 1990. While I was growing up, my family owned La Cresta restaurant, which was located in the building next to my current office. They also owned the pizza shop, Casa Del Sole, right around the back of my office. I spent many long hours working in both locations. So it seemed very natural for me to open my dental practice on Commercial Avenue.

In addition to my private practice, one day a week, I treat special needs patients at various locations in the region through Accessible Dental Services (ADS). ADS has offices in Murrysville, Rochester, and Greensburg. There is a huge need to help this patient population, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help. I find my days at ADS to be among my most rewarding.

My wife, Nicole, and I have one son, Roberto. I am an avid sports fan and I “enjoy” golf as well as softball and skiing. Nicole is a yoga fanatic and loves reading, the symphony, and opera. Roberto likes to golf and ski and play video games with his friends.
